This motel is an excellent choice in the quaint town of Palmerston in the heart of farm/mennonite Ontario. Close to restaurants and relatively close to other tourist towns of interest including Arthur and St. Jacobs. We recommend"

"The property was very close to Stratford’s Avon Theater and to restaurants. The hostess was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good, healthy and presented well. The property is aging and our room was quite small. Overall a pleasant experience!"

They also charged us an extra $29.95 per day—4 days because we used the pullout couch, and there was a sheet and blanket for it, but the same ones were used all four days. The woman made a huge deal about having to wash them, but she only needed to do that once."

Very competitively priced, friendly helpful staff, will book early again next season to ensure there is availability. "The Mercer hotel is located right downtown. The room was surprisingly spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable too! The restaurant attached to the hotel has a lovely patio with great food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!"

"Room was clean and neat. This year we stayed on the third floor; i found the water pressure lacking and the shower surround was tipped out so water gathered on the floor. The toilet seat was loose which presented a challenge to stand up from. "The property was clean and very well located, very close to downtown. Staff were courteous and responsive but I found check-in and check-out info a bit confusing. The room was very small, the bathroom tiny with a pillar obtruding into the middle of it. The sink is outside the bathroom in the room itself. "Sue and Al are the most wonderful hosts at Cottage on Caledonia and it's a perfect place to stay for a visit to Stratford. The bed is so comfortable, the homemade & quality breakfast is so appreciated, and the space is charming and welcoming. "Staff was friendly during check-in and check-out, very quick, too. The room was large and clean. Beds were queen sized. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was updated. Shampoo and soap, and hair dryer were provided. Location was excellent, on the road out of town, and 5 minutes from downtown.
