This wonderful, single level holiday cottage can be found in the small Yorkshire village of Almondbury, just ten minutes from the centre of Huddersfield and fifteen minutes from bustling Holmfirth. A detached annexe to the friendly owners’ home, once inside you’ll find the accommodation wonderfully peaceful, well equipped and comfortable. The living room boasts superb reclining sofas, perfect for relaxing on after the day exploring, and the bathroom features a walk-in shower, and, quite uniquely, a full-length body dryer and contemporary bidet toilet. Externally there’s seating to the front, which is a real suntrap, and overlooks the owners’ gardens which is a haven for birds. The lovely owners can also provide discounted passes for a local gym with infrared saunas and treatments should anyone fancy some pampering (charges apply).
The centre of Almondbury is around a mile away and home to village amenities such as a convenience store, café and food-serving pub. Extensive wider amenities are available in nearby Huddersfield and Holmfirth which is best recognised as the backdrop to the long running comedy series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. The area is well situated to offer beautiful countryside with ample cycling and walking opportunities, being just a short drive from the stunning vistas of the Peak District National Park. Other places of interest include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 20 minutes, Haworth, and Bronte Country, 45 minutes, and Manchester, 1 hour away. The historic city of York and beautiful Harrogate can also be reached in just over an hour. Accessible National Trust properties include Nostell Priory and Hardcastle Crags, both around 45 minutes away. For anyone wanting to give their cars a rest, Huddersfield train station is just 1½ miles from the property.
