"had a very disappointing experience at what is supposed to be an almost 5-star hotel. The service at the front desk—especially from the supervisor on the evening/night of May 3, 2026—was unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, the supervisor was unfriendly and dismissive. When I tried to request a room near the elevator, she cut me off before I could even finish my question and simply said “no.” Later, I asked if she could exchange $50 USD into Dominican pesos. Again, before I could complete my request, she refused, saying she didn’t have enough cash—despite the hotel being fully booked, which makes that hard to understand. That same night around 10:30 PM, I arrived in a taxi and asked her once more if she could change a small amount (200 DOP) so I could pay the driver. Once again, she refused without offering any help or alternative."

"I booked this hotel primarily in the excellent ratings which I cannot understand based on my experience. The hotel is well located within the Colonial Zone however there were several detractors. First and foremost, the rooms don’t have any air-conditioning which is a major flaw in a city as hot as Santo Domingo. My room (104) was in the ground floor and was very dark with no sun coming through the windows. The breakfast was mediocre at best with very limited selection and the scrambled eggs were cold. The rooftop poll is small and the loungers are uncomfortable. Not a great experience in my opinion."
