"Excellent location on The Strand, beautiful views of beach, sea & Magnetic Island from my balcony. Restaurants, cafes, Coles, public swimming pools, Ferry to Magnetic Island all very close to hotel. My room on the 11th floor was spacious and equipped to make simple meals. The bed was really comfortable and the blackout curtains effective. Shower was good with plenty of hot water. Staff were very friendly. I wish you would remove the very stained & grubby carpet & the very worn, shabby bar stools from room 1104, no amount of daily house keeping can revive these two things!!! I had a lovely 13 night stay at this hotel and would stay again if I ever visit Australia again!"

"For my one night stop-over, The Vale was just great. Situated on Ross River Rd. it is approx. half way from where I had been, and where I had to go the following day. The Online check-in worked a treat, the receptionist, who could explain how everything works is courteous and friendly, and "undercover parking" is very secure. My room was spacious and well maintained by the housekeeping staff, with the usual facilities and a nice comfy bed. A visit to the hotel for a refreshment or two, and/or a meal is recommended, also with great staff on duty. However, the negatives; a touch of paint in a few areas would really freshen those up,(areas) and only breakfast packs are available. But yes, I do recommend "The Vale Hotel/Motel" for a stop over or just a meal."

"Property clean and comfortable. Good size rooms.This is not a criticism but advice to future travellers. I am 78 and I was unable to get into the pool as there are no rails to assist. The family reported it was really nice. If you have a car larger than an xtrail it will be difficult as the driveway is quite narrow. The ac in the main bedroom does not work properly and takes forever to cool the room. Also be aware that the shower ( great pressure by the way) is over the spar bath, quite an exercise getting in and out. There is a hand rail to assist for which I was grateful . We were happy with the house and will consider having another holiday there next year. "
