This pretty countryside cottage, surrounded by magnificent landscape, is ideal for smaller families, friends, or couples looking for a tranquil retreat. It is the perfect base to explore East Devon and the surrounding Blackdown Hills National Landscape. There are plenty of opportunities for walkers with scenic footpaths to the nearby villages of Rawridge and Upottery, only 2 miles away. Explore Honiton, 5.5 miles away, a historic market town known for its antique shops, traditional lace-making and as a cultural hub with a museum and gallery. Only 12 miles away, you’ll discover the charming market town of Honiton, a great choice for pretty nature walks, for foodies looking to indulge in local fare and history buffs interested in the local textile industry. Alternatively, head to the iconic Jurassic Coast with Lyme Regis less than 20 miles away, offering a seaside experience and the chance to walk beaches while fossil hunting.
This attractive two-storey property is set on a working farm with horses and sheep grazing in the meadows. Enter through the front door and kick off your shoes and hang your coats in the hallway. The cottage has a light, bright, and fresh feel. With white-washed walls, elegant decor and artwork that reflects a nature theme, you will immediately feel welcome, at home and relaxed. The cottage has a contemporary feel with pops of colour in the furnishings, bringing a vibrant energy amid the beautiful surroundings. On the ground floor, to your right along the hallway is a sleek shower room with WC. On your left is the splendid twin bedroom with plenty of space and ample storage. Move through to a kitchen featuring all the necessary appliances to whip up a lazy brunch, a picnic to go, or a favourite family dinner. The cosy living/dining room is at the rear of the property and is a lovely space to gather for chats, board games, and to plan the next day's adventure. The lounge has plenty of natural light flooding in through the patio doors and plush seats that you can sink into at the end of a day exploring. In the evening, watch your favourite box set on the Smart TV. The dining area is conveniently located just outside the kitchen. Head upstairs to discover a stylish double bedroom with natural light from the Velux windows. Opposite the bedroom is a chic, contemporary bathroom boasting an attractive claw-foot bathtub.
Outside, admire the views from the enclosed decked area with a dining table and chairs. There are a couple of steps down into the lawned area of the garden, and a short 50 metre walk leads you to a carp lake shared with the guests staying at the other properties – if you have a fishing license and barbless hooks you will be allowed to fish here. There is also a seating area, perfect for enjoying a family picnic in the summer.
