"The George Hotel is a wonderful place and one that I will remember well. It's near to Hadrian's Wall and many other old Roman sites to explore. The George Hotel has a charm that countryside adventurers will love. Hikers from the wall come and go and share their stories. That bridge and the river provide a scene that you will remember. Although there is no lift, we found out that the room was easily accessible from the upper parking spaces. Staff was super friendly. The food was excellent and just what you would want after a long day exploring. Try the local beers! I definitely recommend."

"A very enjoyable stay with a comfortable room and friendly, efficient staff. The initiative of offering a free drink for each time the room was not serviced was excellent and a practice which other hotels would be well advised to copy. The hotel was a little distant from the town but this wasn't a major problem and the on-site parking was more than adequate"

"This was our second visit to Charlton Hall and this time stayed in The Tempus. It didn’t disappoint. Everything is well thought out, the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated. We ate in the Orangery a couple of times, both of which were delicious. The staff are attentive and courteous. What’s not to love! We will return! "

"Excellent - owners were lovely and accomodated my limited mobility needs. Renovation on the once delapidated property was superb. Additional shop v appealing and insight into restoration business. Great outside space (the weather was superb) v cosy lounge for residents which would be lovely. Only comment breakfast was a little on the cool side. The whole experience was wonderful and i shall definately return."

"Ideal for a for short stay. Rooms are small but cosy. Got your bed, television, tea, coffee and kettle. Plenty of storage spaces: wardrobes and drawers. Ensuite bathroom (walk-in shower) as well. A few breakfast options: cereal- help yourself, toast and cooked options available. Parking is limited - they're are some free spaces several minutes walk away. Staff - couldn't fault them. I would stay here again."

"Its a beautiful place to stay, we were at a family wedding absolutely perfect, gardens were gorgous sun was shining... Rooms are very unique beautiful, breakfast was lovely, staff so helpful...great place to stay !!!"
