"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shady Rest in Eufaula! We were only there for an overnight stay and wish that we could have stayed longer. The area and the house were very quiet - our sleep was awesome! We were traveling with dogs; they really enjoyed the calm, quiet neighborhood for their walk the following morning - we felt completely safe walking on the streets of the small community and were treated with a beautiful sunrise over the lake. The house was well-appointed and had everything we needed for our brief stay. I was particularly enchanted with the super cute washcloth display in the bathroom - I'm not sure why, but it made me smile to see so many washcloths arranged like art. The hosts were friendly, but fully respected our space and privacy. We will definitely stay here again if we have the chance."

"My excitement about being waterfront for our Eufaula fishing weekend came to a screeching halt when we arrived at the home and began realizing the issues with its current condition. The floor has soft spots everywhere and the refrigerator looks like it is getting ready to fall through the floor. One of the bed frame posts already has fallen through. There is an overwhelming sewer odor that is trying to be covered with air freshener. Looks like they also have a rodent problem. The road noise from I-40 proximity is really loud. You have to travel down a couple miles of mud and rocky road to reach the home. All of it was so bad, we only stayed one night and left. "
