"We felt like we were staying a ryokan for locals - not tourists - we were the only westerners in the hotel. Only the front desk personnel spoke any English. The spa was large. The food was great - but was served in the restaurant rather in your room. (Unlike the Kyoto ryokans in which we have stayed.) And we had twin beds instead of futons. Also, no English language tv channels - fortunately baseball is international. "
