The George Of Piercebridge

"Room 221 was very spacious with patio doors onto a balcony and a window with a river view, a lovely bathroom with walk in shower and double aspect windows too. Unusual these days but very welcome for fresh air. Staff were very welcoming and the bar man/night manager was very helpful and hard working. Breakfast was good but didn’t have time time to try the new evening menu as we were out most days touring round Richmond, Middleton in Teesdale, and Barnard castle areas till late."

"We have just had a two night stay with friends. My husband has very specific needs as an MND sufferer. The staff could not have been more accommodating for us. The team on reception arranged a chair to be put in our room, as he can’t sleep lying down now, the lads that brought it & the domestic staff with extra pillows. It was challenging for us but nice to manage some time away. Thank you all very much."

"Staff were really friendly. Hotel was beautiful, as was our room except for the carpet. Stained pink in places and brown spots, told reception as was worried staying with two teenage boys they may have thought it was us! Lady was extremely apologetic and informed me that she would let the managers know. There were also sweet wrappers under the bed which were not ours. Spa looked beautiful, but more for couples/adults relaxing so decided against ruining the vibe with teenage boys! Would visit again with friends or husband though. Restaurant again was beautiful, it did take 45 minutes for our starter to arrive but I think they were short staffed and lady was doing her very best. Once did arrive, food was lovely, as was breakfast. Would stay again as location excellent, staff friendly and think just got a bit unlucky with the carpet as the rest of the room was beautiful especially the bathroom."
