"My family and I (6 adults) stayed at Ethel and Mike’s house from 5/26-6/9 and had an absolute blast. The location was great. We wanted to be away from crowds, tourists and the idea was not to stay at a resort and/or 20th floor of the condominium in Waikiki. We wanted to feel like we are on the island and Hau’ula provided that feeling. 3 bedrooms, two baths, big salon and spacious kitchen were perfect for us. The cherry on top was the porch we could hang out on in the evenings. We could see the ocean from the porch! The house had all the amenities you would need, washer/dryer, toaster, microwave, beach chairs, towels, to name a few. The communication with Ethel and Mike was smooth, they were very responsive and willing to help. Ethel provided a great description of the area, stores, food trucks, fun things to do. The only minor thing was that the last room would get really hot, even with the fan on, since the A/C air from the living room and the master bedroom wasn’t getting there fast enough. In the end it wasn’t a big deal. Bottom line: we all had a great time, loved the house, the area and friendly neighbors, who always waved to us when leaving or coming back home. Thank you so much Ethel and Mike for making this a memorable vacation for me (a frequent Hawai’i traveler) and my family (first timers). "

"Very clean, spacious and well stocked. Close to beaches on north shore including one right across the street. Noisy due to traffic when sitting outside but very tranquil inside. Close to one of the best places on the island to watch the sunrise (Laie Point)! Host was very responsive and check in and check out was easy. "
"My family had a great time staying at Greg's place in Hauula. It was a perfect location with the loveliest beach down the lane. Just a short drive (or walk) to Halela Beach with the softest sand and access to shade and a grassy park made for fun beach days. A short walk south and there were some fun snorkel spots at the end of the beach. The house had air conditioning, comfy beds and ample space for my family of 5. My youngest two slept on the two futons in the living room which weren't the comfiest, but they didn't complain. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment.You are so close to the Polynesian Cultural Center and Hukilau market (which was so much fun-one of my children said it felt like Disneyland). You are right off the Kam Highway, but it was surprisingly quiet inside especially if you had the fan running and we all slept really well. The outdoor shower and washer/dryer were VERY useful. Overall, we loved the location, close to Honolulu and the super busy north shore towns and beaches but in Hauula it was quieter and a little less "touristy" feeling. "
