"We loved the house and property. The nearby beach has great snorkeling and was a real bonus. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool during the day and in the evening. Perfect for nature lovers and visitors who want a peaceful, safe place off the beaten path. We really enjoyed the wildlife on and around the property. Our favorites were the baby goats running up and down the road, the little anoles and the 2 hermit crabs under the stairs. The view from the front deck (and the pool) is amazing! We began each day drinking coffee on the deck and admiring the view. The house is very comfortable and the owners have provided everything needed and more. Because we rented a jeep, we were able to drive all over the island with no trouble. Our family would definitely recommend this rental to others and we look forward to staying here again one day."

"We really enjoyed the property, the views are amazing. Our room was a little stuffy as some of the screen windows were glued so we were not able to open them. We found a good amount of hair in our room upon arrival, we didn't complain, we simply used the broom provided to clean it up. There are a lot of stairs, if stairs are an issue, this would not be a good place to stay. We liked the location, very peaceful and quiet. Really enjoy the snorkeling at Salt Bay. We did not interact much with staff, when we did they were very kind and helpful. I would stay again, it was our first time at an eco-lodge, so we enjoyed the clamping like expierence "

"We had a fantastic time staying at the house! It is definitely off the beaten path if you’re looking to get out of the touristy area. But still have easy access to all the beautiful beaches. I highly recommend it!!! Paul the manager was fantastic. He assisted us with all of our needs and gave us great recommendations. "The Bali-flavored wood-carving esthetic and extremely thoughtful airflow design resulted in a relaxing, joyous, and restorative week for our first visit to St. John.Perhaps we were lucky that the prevailing winds from the East at 10-15 mph kept any and all bugs away, but also provided pleasing breezes both on the upper and lower porches and throughout the upstairs living space.We loved the beautiful gardens, Bali wood-carvings, quality tile flooring, solid window and door hardware, mood lighting, safety motion-sensor lighting for the stairs, and of course the incredible location and views of the St. John east end, BVI, and many other islands.We loved the well-appointed kitchen with excellent quality UV-filtered tap water. We grilled fresh fish that Ali at Calabash seasoned for us. Salt Pond Bay was only a few minutes away for great snorkeling, 4-wheel drive to nearby Lameshur Bays for more great wildlife and snorkeling.We experienced an earthquake at 2:58am May 4th - on our anniversary! (no damage). The solar battery backup system was needed to keep the fridge, some lights, and water running during island-wide rolling zone-scheduled power outages.The downstairs bathroom lighting could use improvement, and a mirror over the sink. The road to the house needs some smoothing - we really bounced around in our (necessary) jeep getting to and from the property."
