"Due to an 'oversight' a man entered my room without knocking making me feel very unsafe."

"Absolutely Lovely staff … friendly and welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for us Sadly this does not take away from the tired rooms. We had booked a suite which was better when we viewed it but due to a significant leg injury I could not get up and down the stairs. … So we asked and were moved to a basic room on the ground floor (We didn’t ask for refund on room and wasn’t offered one) so paid over the top for our 3 nights. Bed was comfy and tea and coffee facilities good but room was dingy, dark, smelt a bit fusty and in desperate need of a lick of paint and updating. Food was good quality pub food but not better than that. Breakfast was good too. All in all we had a restful stay as planned but surroundings were sadly worse than home so wouldn’t return just for those reasons. "

"I always want to give everything at Tilford 5 stars because it's our go-to choice when it comes to a long weekend away. Fully appreciative of the fact that there's a cost of living crisis at the moment, there were a few little 'Tilford differences' missing this year. No extra pillows or linen in the lodge, a much reduced tea/coffee selection, no biscuits, no milk in the fridge, a much reduced selection in the shop, everything felt a little bit ''just enough''. Something we've never experienced at Tilford before. Certainly won't stop us from returning, but also certainly the reason why 5 stars isn't appropriate this time."

"Some things could do with a little updating. We have been before and some of the welcome pack is now very basic i.e dishwasher tablets, biscuits etc are no longer provided"

"We spent two nights at the hotel and were very pleased from the moment we arrived. The décor was lovely, the room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was big and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. We used the spa facilities on the day of arrival, and it was wonderfully quiet — we were able to enjoy the sauna, steam room,pool and the gym without any waiting. The whole hotel felt calm and serene throughout our stay. The food was very good, and overall it was a fantastic experience. We would definitely stay here again."

"Stayed for 2 nights in this lovely little shepherds hut, just me and my dog. Idyllic if you want to get away from it all to have peace and quiet. The hut has everything you would need, lovely and clean, beautifully equipped and super cozy. The owner made me really welcome, nothing too much trouble, just a shame I couldn’t find her when I left to thank her! Highly recommend and will definitely return again. Thank you🌟"

"What an amazingly placed site, such a picturesque place. It’s like a scene from a Christmas movie. The lodge itself was beautiful, clean and modern. Very, very warm inside. Having a hot tub in a secluded, sheltered decked area just outside your bedroom is just bliss, not to mention the sauna you can enter from your bedroom’s en-suite - heaven!Can’t believe we didn’t find this place sooner. Definitely coming back again."
