"I stayed at Somerset Palace Seoul expecting a 4-star experience, but it felt closer to a poorly maintained 2-star property. Arrival was inconvenient—there are three heavy manual doors to get through with luggage and no automatic access. Check-in was smooth and staff were polite, which was the only positive. Hallway carpets were torn and lifting, and the walls were covered in visible stains. It immediately felt neglected. It had a strong musty smell, like old carpet and stale air that hadn’t circulated properly. It felt stuffy and uncomfortable to breathe in. When we tried to use the A/C, we were told it was unavailable due to maintenance (not disclosed beforehand). No fan was offered—we were told to open the window instead. This was not a solution. The room faced a noisy street, and the outdoor air quality was poor. Between the heat, noise, and pollution, it was very difficult to sleep. The bathroom looked unclean despite being “cleaned”—the bathtub had visible stains and fixtures were worn. Furniture was chipped, walls near the bed were stained, and there were no outlets by the bedside. Overall, the room felt unhygienic and poorly maintained. We didn’t feel comfortable staying and left the next day after developing coughing."

"Clean room, friendly staff, close to restaurants and can get uber easily but the bus and subway stations are closeby. The free breakfast was amazing and the views were great. Just hoping the room would have been bigger but we did have 3 large luggages with us"

"I had a very pleasant stay at Amid Hotel Seoul and would happily recommend it to others visiting Seoul. The location is excellent—situated in a central area with easy access to public transportation, it made getting around the city extremely convenient. Popular areas, restaurants, and cafes were all within walking distance, which was a huge plus. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. They were always willing to assist with any questions and made the stay feel welcoming. The room was clean, modern, and well-maintained. It was a comfortable size with a practical layout, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully designed. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet at night, allowing for a restful sleep. The bathroom was spotless with good water pressure and all the basic amenities provided. Housekeeping did a great job keeping everything tidy throughout the stay. Overall, this hotel offers great value for its location, cleanliness, and service. It’s a reliable and comfortable option in Seoul, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip."

"It’s an ok hotel. It’s clean and well located. Do I feel like it’s a four star, not really, more like a well maintained three star. If you’re looking for guests services and amenities this isn’t the place for you because there aren’t any. The elevators despite having three are extremely slow, in busy period you can wait 5/10 minutes. Rooms are clean but basic and the air conditioning whilst modern is weak so the room is very hot even on 15c. I probably wouldn’t stay at this property again for more than a night or two."

"This hotel is not in Myeongdong which I liked. It is about 1km walk away from busy shopping area but very close to public transport and has many eating options nearby. The hotel suite was clean and spacious for central Seoul with washing machine and dryer. It has kitchen facilities but only had two plates and two forks. Overall excellent place to stay, and I would happily come back here"
