"Lovely peaceful spot in a rural location. The Barn was very clean and the scones and fizz were a lovely gesture. The only complaint would be that the matress in the double room is quite hard and uncomfortable but other than that we had a lovely stay."

"Arrived on the Monday afternoon for 3 nights, room was spotless (as the different rooms in this building we have stayed in always are). Comfy bed / pillows / towels all supplied. Was concerned at first seeing the construction compound across the road thinking maybe a new apartment block was being constructed but turns out it’s only a temporary works compound while the sea front is being upgraded. "It makes Fawlty Towers look professional, friendly and clean. Couldn't quite believe this is a functioning institution. The fact they refuse to refund the booking only adds insult to injury. Shame on Hotels.com for even listing this place. And shame for them not protecting their users by refunding themselves."

"Despite the complex instructions to find the cottage, it was fairly easy. (A quick look beforehand on Google Street View helped!) Found it best to park the car first in the Freshwater car park as you exit the harbour up the hill. This is a long stay car park costing approx. (August 2024) £10 for 24hrs. It's worth buying a permit for the week as it is valid in other car parks in the whole of Torbay too for when you trip out. It's an easy flat walk from here (and you may get a glimpse of seals...

"The cottage happily accomodated 6 adults and 4 children and was very comfortable. We identified a few problems which Tina quickly sorted which, surprisingly, appear not to have been reported by the previous occupants. We were so lucky with the weather but we noticed that sadly there were no comfortable outdoor chairs."
