"Fantastic place. Perfect for getting out into the hills. "

"This is the second time I have stayed at the Halston and it never fails to impress. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. It is like having your own apartment."

"This was a beautifully maintained property and the description undersells just how nice this place is. I only wish I could have spent more time there."

"Great location, quiet and scenic view. Great communication by the host - happy to help."

"A unique and beautiful boathouse. Stunning scenery to enjoy from the veranda. Property delivered to an exceptional standard. Fabulous location for the lake, local walks, villages, pubs, and restaurants. We booked for a special occasion, and certainly were not disappointed. Thank you ❤️"

"Thanks for stay, enjoyed it"

"Great communication with host! Unexpected problem with water heater…she was in the car and on the way to investigate and fix the problem immediately."

"Lovely cottage with all the amenities that we required. Situated in a quiet village within close proximity of Penrith. Nice welcome box with tea, coffee etc and even treats for the dog. Good offroad parking at the back of the cottage and an enclosed front garden. Stayed for a week, excellent location for exploring Hadrians wall, lake district and yorkshire dales. "

"Cottage lovely and warm when we arrived. Could not get our heads around the wood burn. Bed is a touch low and bottom frame and drawers under bed likely to cause serious damage to toes and feet. Was very cosy."

"Though bijou, it was well designed and the space was very well used. The outside space was good and lovely to have the hills around, We did have problems using the very modern microwave/grill and cooker - It needed DETAILED WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS! and we would have preferred an ordinary electric kettle. A corkscrew, too would have been useful! But, we enjoyed a wonderful 2 days"

"Sheepfold barn is a wonderful house in a very private location. Our neighbours were the sheep and cows grazing on the local land. It is conveniently situated between Keswick and Penrith with shot drives to many popular Fells. We celebrated my wife’s birthday in style! And the views from the Jacuzzi were epic. Didn’t want to get out."

"Excellent place, great location and superb amenities."

"The property was just as described, with lits of littke extras - very well equipped. In a good positio to walk into the city centre ( even if Botchergate got a bit lively on New Years Eve!). I'd happily stay again and would recommend it. "

"Lovely comfortable cottage in an elevated position with spectacular views."

"Excellent condition of property, fantastic location, great view. We had a lovely week and relaxing time."

"Beautiful property, great location and everything you need, a home from home, will be booking again."

"Without doubt - the most idyllic place with stunning views I’ve ever experienced. A return visit is definitely on the cards. The lodge is beautiful and pristine and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. Just sitting in the living area with the folding patio doors wide open, looking out onto Catbells is simply bliss. I can’t rate this place enough. 5 star rating for definite."
