"Cleanest hotel I’ve ever been in. Hotel breakfast was clean, hot, and so good compared to other hotels. The lady at the front desk (blond hair) was SO NICE!"

"Great place stay, especially if you’ll be spending time in the room. Great amenities and spaces in the room and common areas. Easy walk to nearby bars and food, but definitely geared toward college students. Not complaining, but not a good destination for better dining. Also a little questionable walking around at night."

"Very clean and every one very nice and helpful"

"We came to visit our son at SIU and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nice, clean, and very affordable. The breakfast was great, with lots of options. There's a bar right next to the hotel, which was nice, and a couple of restaurants nearby. The area felt safe and had a good amount of activity. Overall, a really good place to stay when visiting SIU!"

"Very clean. Helpful staff. Great hot breakfast. Definitely staying there again if I am in Carbondale."

"Makanda inn is a very well maintained place. The room was very comfortable, and the staff was excellent. The breakfasts were delicious."

"My favorite hotel to stay whenever I come into town! Staff always treats me top tier. Rooms clean and nice! They have a customer in me for life!"

"Just an over night, it was quiet although we wanted to use the pool but it was cold. Had a great time visiting old town Cape Girardeau. But don’t waste your money eating at the Port house."

"Beautiful decor with touches of modern yet historic. Fun little areas to hang out or lounge. Perfect stay while in Cape."

"The 1st room I was given the AC unit would not plug into the outlet. The 2nd room I was given had roaches nesting behind the hair dryer plug. The 3rd room I was given had what looked like live fleas on bathroom floor. I then ask for refund. Pretty sad!"

"Room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was friendly, parking was easy. It was an older hotel and could use some renovation but would definitely stay again."
