"I really wish it was a better experience. The rooms were not up to par. We had to switch rooms 2 times because of issues. First room the shower didn’t work. Second room the ac was broken. Third room didn’t even lock properly or have a working bathtub but we decided twice was enough and we would just take our chances. "Most of Grand Lucayan is closed from hurricane Mathew but you don't know this until you arrive. All guests have to stay at Lighthouse point which is nice but with not nearly as many amenities. 2 less pools , less convenient dining options, the Casino never reopened. "This was an emergency stay. The resort that our host chose for us was substandard and we needed somewhere to stay. When I called about availability the staff was extremely helpful in guiding me through the booking process and even shared that the price would be cheaper through Expedia than booking directly. "
