"Everything about this hotel was stellar. The room, gardens, restaurant, staff, and location were absolutely outstanding. I absolutely plan to return. Not a negative, but to be informative, I am 6’3”, and most historic structures were designed for much shorter people. That said, I only had to duck my head a couple of times. It will not impact in any way my decision to return. Couldn’t have been happier. "

"St Ives is a nice place, it still has a tradition, no chain, department store for goodness sake. The Golden Lion is a good base to explore from. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bar and restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, really nice. Would I stay again? Yes, most definitely."

"Very lovely atmosphere nice sunny evening so we could sit out in the courtyard, our room did look over courtyard so it was a bit noisy as it was hot so window was open all night but didn't spoil our stay. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times "
