This was a gorgeous property and perfect or a ski weekend with a group of friends. Easily walkable to the brewery across the street and to the Ski Bowl. The owners were extremely communicative and answered any question no matter how small. They allowed us an early check in and communicated that several hours ahead of time, which was great since we were already in the area. The home was impeccably clean and very spacious as well as cozy on a snowy weekend.
Beautiful home and location. Home has everything you need except more baby gates please. Kids loved the Harry Potter loft! Loved our visit and would come back again.
Wonderful cabin perfect for our family to enjoy a wintery escape from the city. Easy access right off the highway, but felt nestled away in a small and quiet neighborhood. Close to all the action of Government camp. Enjoyed snowshoeing and visiting the nearby sledding area. House was very comfortable and great setup of bedrooms and bathrooms. Bonus to have some simple play things for our youngest (1 year) as well as some snow shoes and sleds for the older kids. Wish we could have stayed longer!
I recently stayed at this cabin with a group of friends, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The cabin itself is both cozy and elegant, with a well-thought-out layout that made it feel like a true home away from home. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, providing all sorts of recreational amenities that made our stay even more enjoyable. Their communication was excellent—they were friendly, responsive, and genuinely cared about our experience. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful and well-kept space, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!
Great layout in a great location. Host was ultra responsive and helpful when needed. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen user friendly. We will rent here again.
The layout provides for games going on in the kitchen area on a long dining table while others visit in the family room. You can easily walk to town or on trails around the area. This year our youngest traveler discovered the Harry Potter niche and cast spells over all of us.
Absolutely amazing stay. Thanks to Drew and Angela for making it memorable. The house is exactly as described and in a beautiful location. Very thoughtfully equipped and decorated. The harry potter nook and goodies were enjoyed thoroughly by the kids. Check in and out were extremely easy. Highly recommend.
We really enjoy staying at this cabin. It’s close to everything from ski resorts to sno parks for sledding. There’s plenty of snow for making ice forts and snowmen right outside the door. Kid and pet friendly. Well stocked and clean. Would love to come back again next winter.
Another wonderful stay at Barlow Pines Lodge. House is very well stocked. In the heart of Govt Camp, yet feels tucked off in the woods. We will be back!
Wonderful house, comfortable, spacious, great Mount Hood view
My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at the house. . The accomodations were great for my family- age ranges from 3 to 77. The kids loved the Harry Potter-themed reading nook! The owners left small wands for the children to take home,! A thoughtful touch that reflected the care the owners took to make a stay at the house special for us. We loved everything about the house and the location.
We love this home and it’s now our go to place. The house is beautiful, location amazing, and Drew was very quick to respond to any questions. Everyone in our group of 8 ladies absolutely loved it. Another great trip and we will be back.
The property location is ideal, the floor plan allows for quiet spaces and gathering spaces. Our Harry Potter fan added another wand to her holiday treasures. Dining table is prefect for game time and family dinners.
The home felt like home from the minute we stepped inside. Spacious rooms, fabulous design from hooks and bench to put your outside clothing, to kitchen, bedrooms and bath. The Harry Potter room will be a favorite Christmas memory for our longtime Harry Potter fan.
We stayed as a family with 3 young children. The house was beautiful and well maintained. Everything we could need was supplied, I was happy to see the garage stocked with sleds and snowshoes. Our kids absolutely loved the Harry Potter nook. Resteraunts nearby were easily accesible even in the snow. The trails behind the neighborhood were awesome to trek through in fresh snow.
Our second time staying here and even though there was not much snow this year - we had a wonderful time! You're right across the highway from the small little community of Government Camp (shops, rental offices, restaurants, pubs etc). Andrew is very very responsive - one of the best hosts we've run into. House is dog friendly, easy walking and neighborhood is quiet. There was 6 adults and 2 small children in our group.
Perfect house in Gov’y with all the amenities. My 8 and 10 year old boys were over the moon with the XBox and Wizard room. The master suite was huge and the grandparents loved their rooms+bathroom. The big dining room table was ideal for nightly games. Highly recommend!
This is the 5th or 6th time we’ve stayed here. Every year there are new upgrades. We’ve always appreciated the location, size, and comfort of the house, but this year we were there for the storm that took out power to 200k people, including all of Government Camp, so now we appreciate the two gas fireplaces, lots of candles, and extra flashlights. Communication with the hosts was great. We will be back!
Our family of 9 stayed for the long Thanksgiving weekend. The house was perfect. Clean, lovely and well appointed. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Our hosts were super responsive and offered lots of useful help along the way. The house itself is located a few hundred feet from the trails that access one of the ski areas. I can't tell you how fantastic it was to have this so close and to be able to walk our dog safely in these beautiful woods! It's not always easy to do in ski areas and we were very grateful for it.
Everything about the stay was amazing. There are a lot of small details about the place that make it abundantly clear how much pride the owners take in their property- multiple Wireless charging pads in the Master bedroom, the amazing Harry Potter nook, the full spice rack, the board games and toys, etc. I contacted the owner with a question, and they got back to me before I put my phone back in my pocket. The location is as close to ski bowl as possible. Walking there took less time than driving/parking. 100% will stay again.
Myself and adult children with partners enjoyed the home. Two living areas (kitchen/dining, and tv room) provided space for separate activities, and another space in a bedroom gave space out of the hubbub. The table was perfectly sized for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked with needed gear. The only down side to the accommodations I'd say is that the couch in the TV area was too small for the number of people (7) when all together, so that wasn't very comfortable, but overall a good stay.
It is located right next door to ski bowl west (short drive, one block-ish). It is separate from Government Camp, so it feels more secluded which I prefer, but close enough to drive and enjoy if desired. We did not find a great sledding hill nearby, but we didn't try hard either.
The house was in a great location to access both ends of the SkiBowl Adventure Park. It was quick access to all the attractions. Check in was quick and easy.
We loved the spacious house; with all 10 of us and a dog we had plenty of room to visit and have space to ourselves if we wanted. The master suite was impressive with a great view of Mt Hood and the rest of the bedrooms were roomy and very comfortable. My 14yo, 6 ft, son took over the wizard nook as soon as he saw it and really enjoyed his own space.
The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room to cook for the 10 of us. The table was kinda tight for 10 but we made it work. We BBQd both days also which was nice on the hotter day. The house stayed pretty cool on it's own too; without AC I wasn't sure what to expect on a 85 degree day.
The small neighborhood was quite while we were there. It's a very nice area, secluded from the highway in the trees, even though you can hear some road noise and big trucks.
Overall, would recommend to big groups and will probably try it out this winter too.
