"Room and bed was great! Very clean front desk attendance were very pleasant. Only thing we're not crazy about is the breakfast. Nothing to write home about we were disappointed. We would rather have a cheaper room rate and no breakfast then the rubbery sausage and other so-called food. But this hotel chain is the very top of our list"
"We stayed at the cabin for 5 days and had a very nice stay. Check-in was very simple, which was good since we arrived well after dark. It's very quiet and located on a farm with a nice pond in the back and cows in the area. It was very clean and well-stocked. Lot's of extra towels and bed linens, which was nice. The kitchen was well-stocked, too, and had new appliances, although a few of the pans could use replacing. The beds were very comfortable, the large couch was, too, and the air conditioning worked very well during the hot weather. The fire pit in back was a great touch, although it was a bit hard to get it started. Some kindling and split logs would have been nice but I found ample sticks in the woods. The only thing that might improve the stay was having reading lamps in the master bedroom, as well as a few bureaus to put away clothes. It's a big room, so there is plenty of space. Also, there were a fair number of wasps flying around the front porch. They didn't bother us but for those who are allergic, it might be a problem."
"I gave The Courtland an "excellent" rating not because it is excellent in the same way I would rate a 5-star Hilton in downtown Portland, for instance. This is an historic building, in an historic part of Ft. Scott. It is run by ordinary folks and everything in that neighborhood is, well, historic (or old). So, it doesn't have glitz but it does have charm and it is peaceful. I would stay there again if I ever return to Ft. Scott. The owners are wonderful people. "
"Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were small but comfortable. Facility needed some attention check in area was cluttered with material not very pleasing."
"We stayed here overnight on our way home from spending a week in a luxury resort at a national car convention in the Wisconsin Dells. Budgetels pillows were better, their bed was better, their shower was better, and the room was cleaner on checkin. If you are looking for a nice but less expensive hotel in Ft Scott, definitely consider this Budgetel!"
