"We wanted somewhere which would accommodate myself, husband, 3 sons and daughters-in-law and a 3 year old grandson for a long weekend and we really got lucky with Lesley and John's house! The best rental property we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped - can't think of anything we couldn't find - so much space for the 9 of us that we didn't feel cramped at any point. Lovely that everyone had beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms and we also made the most of the huge gardens and BBQ. Lesley was wonderful to deal with and contacted me before to see if there was anything we needed for our stay. She and John met us at the house and showed us around and she also messaged me during the weekend to see if we were okay. Great location for visiting a variety of places including the coast. House is even better than the photos! Thank you Lesley and John for allowing us to share your beautiful home. Can't recommend highly enough!"

"I cannot praise the owners highly enough. Rather than call us a taxi in order to travel to a restaurant which was over 5 miles away, the owner gave us a lift in his own car. When we returned the bar was relatively full and everyone extremely friendly. It might be said that the owners are not responsible for their clientele, but it seemed to us that the nature of the place - how it is run - probably results in attracting to it the kind of people it was a pleasure to meet - albeit only for an hour or so. P.S. The cooked breakfast was just right. "

"Really good stay here as we travelled to Dorset for a wedding. Host was happy to let us in early to get changed and was very attentive. Breakfast in the morning was super and once again our host could not do enough to make sure we were happy. We would recommend very strongly"

"This was our fourth stay at the cottage and the one thing I can say that we really like is consistency. It is always clean, welcoming and a bit of an oasis in the centre of Shaftesbury. We had a rental car and use of a parking space cannot be overstated in the town. The cottage is cozy and everything works! Its location is also great for the various restaurants and walks around town.There are a couple of new eateries that we tried since our last visit in November 2023. The Kings Arms has opened as a gastro pub and was very good. Although around for many years, we also had a very enjoyable meal with friends at the Italian San Tonino, especially interesting if you like going through a graveyard to get to a restaurant! We also visit Aroma at least once every trip.Thanks for Nicky for her hospitality and we are already looking forward to our next visit, hopefully in 2026. "

"Great value for money, clean and tidy. Staff are friendly, beds are comfy and the facilities outdoors are brilliant. WIFI is super good unlike most free WIFI at hotels. Would recommend and would definitely stay again."
