Checking in, staff member didn’t seem particularly interested. Had to prompt guidance on how to get to my room.
Dinner was fine. Nothing spectacular.
Breakfast was fine.
Rooms are dated, bed was way too soft. Probably old.
All just pretty average and not 4 star."
"We had a fabulous 2 night stay. Rooms are very clean, breakfast was amazing and the hosts were fantastic. Would definitely stay here again. Great location to drive to St Bees beach or into town."
"I loved staying in a property that was so old and yet had been made so comfortable. It was a shame that one of the curtains had broken hooks as it drew the eye but the view from our windows more than made up for it. The evening meals were delicious. Location was perfect for us being equidistant to Grasmere and Keswick. Maybe some sachets of decaf coffee?"
"Our stay was perfect. The room was big enough for our family of four, bed were very comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. What’s an added bonus is the best breakfast you will ever have! Award winning marmalades, served with HOMEMADE bread and all of the ingredients of the cooked breakfast’s are local and high quality. I highly recommend having the French toast or the Cumbrian breakfast, my son would highly recommend the kids French breakfast which is chocolate dipping bowl and fresh...
"Updated, super clean and well done. It was a bit off the path for the Coast2Coast and the owner gave up explicit hiking directions including 2 pages of photos to get us back on it by hiking trails."
