"The staff was very friendly, especially Maui who was always very personable. They were so friendly that I bought a Hopia Cake for them to share. A very beautiful hotel. Too bad the bridge that leads to Coconut Island is broken because I was really looking forward to going to it. The WSW Restaurant had great food. In fact, I believe I had one of the best steaks when I ordered the Sizzling Steak."

"This is an exquisite property, beautifully maintained, full of historic charm and artwork. It sits on an island in the middle of the Wailuku river, with gorgeous views of the waterfalls and river immediately adjacent to the property. There are four large bedrooms, en suite upstairs, one on the main floor, just off the dining room, and another downstairs. It’s an easy walking distancing to downtown Hilo with all of its charming shops and cafés, and a fabulous farmers market. The house is so elegant and beautiful maintained that it’s a real splendor of a place. It’s well equipped with a modern kitchen and all the accoutrements to make it fun to stay in and cook fabulous dinners with friends. There is ample seating in a variety of common areas each of which is so relaxing and beautiful. We hope to stay here again."

"We throughly enjoyed our stay. The owners greeted us with a small gift for our anniversary (was was yummy). They also provided us with a link to watch the fountain eruption happening at Kiluea. Parking was a breese and the accommodations were great for 2 people. The view is lovely and you are just far away enough from town to feel like you are in the country but close enough that you are anywhere within 5/10 minutes. "

"This home is exceptionally well cared for and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need for a beach vacation. Even the hand soaps smelled amazing! The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided were high quality and much better than the cheap toiletries you usually find in hotels. The location was also excellent, very convenient to many of the best spots around Hilo.The only downside was the noise during rain. Raindrops hitting the metal roof/storage area outside created a loud clanging sound, almost like drums. Since the master bedroom is located right next to it, the noise was very noticeable at night and made it difficult to sleep when it rained."

"We really enjoyed this property. It’s an excellent choice if you don’t need a kitchen for food prep. The room was nicely finished and furnished, it had everything we needed. It overlooks a large jungle-type landscape with a lot of island vegetation. Just beautiful. Hannah and Tanner were very responsive to any questions we had. A really nice experience. Mahalo!"

"This is a beautiful off-grid house conveniently located just a few miles from Hilo. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. You are off-grid with solar power unless the sun is gone too long, then they run a generator for you. Off grid toilet, also. Most peaceful place we have stayed. Nice hosts."
