Wouldn’t recommend

Great location but cleanliness could be much better and infested in lady bugs in the bedrooms & was told it’s seasonal & there’s nothing they can do about it. Definitely just an older cabin, & not what you’d expect for the price.

Pap’s Gig in Gatlinburg

Pap had a gig at Ole Red on a Friday and Saturday night. The family needed a place that was close by and convenient for our stay. This place checked all the boxes.

If you are up to drive a very steep scary drive way then this place is for you.

Nice place

Excellent facilities — however, not stocked well with utensils (only four forks) and you need to bring your own dish soap. There is some trash outside near the porch (glass bottles, cigarette butts, etc.) Nice location but be aware you are going up some steep hills at times. A nice place for a good place for a fair price but could use some TLC.

Dont let the pictures fool you

Positive: view was nice. Accommodating with my dogs (over the 40lb limit that I didn't see until after booking)Neg: very steep driveway. Don't expect to be able to turn around at the top without someone helping or feeling like you are about to drive off the cliff esp if there are visitors at neighboring cabinNeighboring cabin: not only do they have a clear view of your balcony and hot tub area from their balcony, but there is a camera with a very bright light pointing directly at the hot tub area from that cabinprivacy nonexistent. Cabin is dated and poorly maintained. Air vents are falling out of walls, carpet stained, water damage in bathrooms, unfinished spackled holes. Sprayer on the kitchen sink gets stuck, which I didn't learn until turning the faucet on and being showered with cold water. Debris on the stairs. Bathroom drawers were littered with hair. The range had grease caked on it. The stove had non-working burners. Cob webs hanging from the fans/light fixtures and even inside the cabinets. Both the dishwasher and dryer make an ear piercing high pitched noise. The pool table had a broken bumper. Going back and reading more reviews, this appears to have been an issue for at least 6 months. 330 a night not worth it. Word limit for review or it would flow better with more detail.

Very disappointing

The chalet was dirty! We did not leave a tip for the cleaning people because it was obvious they don't clean. We're curious as to what our Housekeeping Fee was for. The floors were so dirty that the bottoms of our socks were very discolored after walking around without shoes. Cob webs were in both bathrooms. The whole house had a very foul odor. After seeing a live mouse in the kitchen, we believe the odor was from a dead mouse somewhere within. Also, the outlet in that is on the other side of the laundry did not work. We tried multiple things but could not get it to work so we just used the bedroom outlet closest to the bathroom door. The pool table is broken on one end and there is only one cue stick. All of the issues I have mentioned have been listed in other reviews and nothing has been done about them. Obviously the complaints are not important to the owners. In addition, with it being December, it would have been nice to have had some hint of Christmas decor since that was our main reason for going this time of year. It was just very disappointing and we will not be staying at this rental nor any others from Aunt Bugs for fear they may all have the same issues.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The driveway was nearly impossible to use . . . repair to the blacktop should be done immediately. It was so bad, we couldn't venture out for evening meals, for fear of NOT being able to return without sliding off the side.The carpet on the stairs and bedrooms were in bad need of cleaning. The bedding was comfortable. The hot tub was 116 and only filled to the middle of the jets on the first night. . . we had to call the next day to have to filled properly.

I like that they had a pool table, but the table was broken on one side and the pool sticks did not have tips. The hot tub was nice but it did have an odor about it. Like dirty feet or soured. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with nice pots and pans, but there was only one dish towel and there were not any pot holders. Taking hot pans out of the oven with one dish towel was not very easy. The drive up was very steep. There wasn't really a yard for the dogs. A small bear visited us right up to the porch table. It was cute. I did not know until later that they have been known to open the door and come in. There were dog pee stains on the lower part of the box springs on one of the beds. The bedrooms and bathrooms were upstairs, which was ok, just hard on our old knees. We made the best of our stay and enjoyed ourselves. I love the washer and dryer! I came home with clean laundry!

Angel’s Roost was filthy

The house is nice with a pool table and hot tub. However, the floors and kitchen chairs are filthy. I can deal with a lot of things, but living in other people’s filth is one thing I cannot deal with. If they would clean the place up, I would have wanted to stay again. Also, the drive way is difficult to get up.

Reviewer Comments: We arrived at check in time at the house (this is not a cabin as described), I searched for the email that gives us the code to get in the house but found nothing. I called the rental company who said we had to check in at the office in pigeon fordge. Which NO ONE ever told us. The house is way up the mountain and the driveway is up a very steep hill with a curve and the road was crumbling apart with huge holes in it. The rental come at said it told me to check in at the office but I read over it 5 times and NO WHERE DID IT SAY TO DO THAT.After an hour of calling the rental company and trying to email them my license so they could send is the code we finally got in. At this point we are all angry and just want to cancel but guess what NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE.The house was not very clean, the top deck railing where popping out and very unsafe for my young child and dogs. The door frames looked like they were glued back together and the pots in the kitchen were so dirty it immediately smoked up the house anytime we cooked. We will never stay here again. We didn't listen to the reviews and decided to go anyways, so please consider the reviews from previous people before you waste your money on this house, not a canin!

Location was pleasant and plenty of room for 4 - 6 might be a crowd. Both Bath Rooms are up stairs.

Nice place but difficult to get to so bring everything you need once you get there or go back as a ride to town is about 15 to 20 minutes.

Old,broken down and dirty

Very disappointed with my rental. It was dirty, lamps were broken, road to get to it was very rough and rutted out, one towel in one of the bathrooms, no toilet paper in one bathroom, bees everywhere, ants all over the decks, pool table was in horrible shape, pool sticks had no ends...part of the reason we rented this cabin. The a/c hardly worked upstairs. Very hot while sleeping. Also very hard to turn around in driveway. We paid way too much for what we received. First time I’ve ever used Aunt Bugs and will be my last. Unfortunate because we come every month or so!!

The kids loved having the pool table and the hot tub was a big hit! We even had a bear walk right up onto the front porch, no fear of us whatsoever. It was the full Gatlinburg experience lol. We loved the location, with a short drive to town and an equally short drive to Ober Gatlinburg! The grill/smoker was really nice, and all appliances were clean and in working order. Loved having a washer/dryer! The hot tub chemistry probably could be better maintained. There was chlorine in there but it definitely could use some clarifier and for the pH to be tested. The unit was clean. I read the other reviews and expected it to be a lot worse than it was actually. The space behind the tv in the master bedroom, however, hadn’t been cleaned in some time, and the floors could have used another once over. There were several areas of disrepair (door frames, pool table felt, one of the doors doesn’t stay open, some doors don’t close all the way and can’t really be locked...) But it was nothing that affected our stay. It was perfect for our last-minute, inexpensive getaway. Thank you!

Sketchy Roads

The house was located on one of the best views over Gatlinburg, however the roads leading in to the are were very narrow and extremely steep to get to the house. If someone is an inexperienced driver or elderly it would be very dangerous for them to attempt to get to the location. The house was not the cleanest but was tolerable. Awesome sunrise view from the balconies.

First Time Visit to the Area/ Late Birthday Getaway

This was the exact place we chose to rent for the weekend. However there were more then a few things that needed to addressed. The property wasn't cleaned thoroughly there was alot of dust,trash on the floor, inside the pullout bed, the freezer wasnt clean. Upstairs there was trash still left in the trash cans and underneath both beds, fingernail or toe clippings on the night stand, one bathroom had hair in it, the other tub wasn't clean, spiderwebs throughout the property, the carpet had pet hair all over and the bathroom sink in one of the bathrooms had a slow draining problem.

Horrible experience with Aunt Bug cabin Angel Roost.

Cabin was nasty in every aspect, from hot tub on porch to bedrooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms had hair in tubs/showers. Not just one or two several hairs all over the bathrooms. Didn’t appear that the showers and tubs had even been cleaned. Toothpaste and spit smeared on the mirrors. Bed linens were full of long black hair. None of us have long black hair mind you. Not ours. Appeared to be old blood stains on these same bed sheets. Kitchen was very dirty microwave had food particles in it, sink not even wiped out. Kitchen chairs were horrible. Base of chairs were covered in hair. Floors had not been moped or vacuumed and I don’t think the carpet has ever been cleaned. Lights out in stairwell leading to top floor. Dead bugs in window seals. Plastic clothes hanger hanging from curtains in bedroom. The thickest, blackest cobwebs I’ve seen in years if ever. Then there are the parts of the home that just need to be replaced. Carpet is nasty and needs to go but the large holes in the floor makes this a necessity. The busted broken door frames need to be replaced. The broken splintered banisters of the porch need to be replaced as well. And I can’t even explain how horrible the driveway is. Large holes in the steep incline and a recent fallen tree that had just been cut back to barley clear the road leaving lots of debri to navigate around. I posted a review on Aunt Bugs Cabin LLC please read before you book. I have rented thru VRBO before and been very satisfied. This was the worst experience and customer service I have ever encountered they offered nothing. I was even willing to not get money back. Asked to be given a credit to stay somewhere else at a later date. And was told that wasn’t an option. They did nothing for us. I had to put our bags back in the vehicle and make the long drive off the mountain and find a different place for me and my family to stay. I am going to file a complaint with BBB. Please know we are not a complaining family and I have never written a bad review. But this place really deserves it. As well as the customer service. If I could scream from a mountain top how awful the whole experience was I would. I would warn anyone I could to stay away from these thieves. That what they did stole money from my family.
