"The Granary at Carr Edge was a lovely place; I hope we can visit again. It's in a beautiful spot with gorgeous views on both sides. It looks remote on the map, but access to Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and various forts and museums was easy. It's picturesque, a stone-built farm house and outbuildings, so like my grandparents' that I visited as a child. Everything was perfect down to the signage. There's an interesting historic remnant of a Gin-Gang (look it up!). Our hostess, Sandy, was charming...

"If you want to visit and learn about Hadrian's Wall, there is no better location. Three miles from the Roman Soldier Museum, three miles the other way from Vindolanda museum and excavation. One mile the other way to Cawfield Quarry to hike. Plus great Pub food and comfortable inn. "

"Freshly decorated, clean property with parking right in the centre of Hexham. Well located for all of the local facilities but not at all noisy due to newly installed glazing.Comfortable beds with quality bedding and nice fluffy towels. A perfect home from home for us whilst attending a wedding at nearby Hexham house. Wasn’t overly impressed with the non-refundable truvi charge of 10 to verify my details as a longstanding Vrbo user but didn’t impact on our stay which was excellent."

"Great place for our overnight stay en route St Andrews! The property is on third floor and whilst it looks a bit small ( will admit we were a bit unsure) as soon as you open the door into the penthouse, it is welcoming, warm and cosy! It is bigger than we thought and had all we needed for our stay. We walked about the town and there was plenty of places to eat and 2 spars and a coop for essentials. We had a nice drink at Howard Arms (dog friendly) and then a curry take out.Kelly was responsive...
