"Very friendly and attentive staff. One of the biggest and tastiest breakfast buffets I’ve seen *anywhere*. Only a five minute walk from the caldeiras. This is an excellent place to base yourself for explore the eastern half of the island."

"We really loved our stay at Furnas. The hotel staff was nice and helpful, breakfast buffet was excellent (it didn’t vary over the 5 days though), the cabin was great and we made good use of our kitchenette (microwave didn’t work). The pool isn’t heated and the weather gets a bit chilly in certain days but it’s not profound so it wasn’t too bad. The hotel proposed a zip line activity which was a lot of fun. The restaurant was only upon reservation at night (4 or 6 course menu) and quite pricey, you had to cook your own lunch or take the car to go downtown 15mn from there. I scored comfort slightly down because of the 2 new buildings they were building literally next to our cabin, the noise would go on all day and didn’t even stop during lunchtime which made it complicated to use the balcony… but all in all an amazing experience!"

"The only issue was with the lack of a wake up call on my first day when I had a morning tour planned. Neither of the two I requested went through. However, I am in a Portuguese speaking country and was not equipped to request a wake-up call in that language. The one staff member was not able to understand me, so I noted the next time I asked for a call, she wrote an hour later down- when I noted it, and wrote the correct time, she had another staff member aid me and we were able to communicate effectively and she addressed my concerns and called the tour company to assure I would be picked up. Breakfast was filling and worth it!"
