"I love staying at the Iowa House when I visit my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus, definitely within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and cool. The dining room always has something to eat at all hours. Breakfast in the mornings are always good. I even got a text asking if I would be eating breakfast. The staff are great and very accommodating. When I go to Ames, this is the first place I look to stay."

"The hotel was nice with a large refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. Nice space for guests to sit on couch. Only downfall was that we didn’t get maid service on our 2 night stay. We didnt have a tag up saying no room service annd when we came back later in the day, no one had cleaned the room. We did ask for when we got back but it but it was later in the day and they were already gone."

"The breakfast staff was very friendly and always available to refill whatever needed to be filled. The room itself looked old and dingy, really used and abused, stained chairs, horrible pillows. We booked this particular hotel because we wanted to have the option to have an indoor pool. I called beforehand and asked about the condition of the pool and if if it was open. I was assured that it was. When we got to the Hotel and wanted to use the pool, we were told that the poolPool was closed...

"The kitchenette did not contain plates, silverware or glasses. I did enjoy the larger room size."
