"A comfortable stay for three nights. We received an email prior to our stay advising of transport options to the guest house! This was very much appreciated and helped so much in reducing the stress of arriving in a new country and not knowing where you are going! We had a warm welcome from the proprietor on the Saturday morning so that we could leave our bags! We were offered coffee and cakes and shown a map of the town and advised about restaurants and places to visit during our stay. Our room...

"Impressive building, right on the seafront, nice character. Really lovely staff and service. Nice decor in the rooms, furnished to a high standard, big beds, nice linen and many pillows! We were kindly upgraded (bc Gold Hotels.com member?) to a sea view room, which was lovely. Despite the rain getting in and soaking the carpet by the French windows (just an upkeep issue). "Exceptional service and generally superb attitude, friendliness and care. Always available staff. Great character and design. Slight issue with room 3 being facing road and bright light of signage into window. The sound was loud with window open but that was our preference for fresh air. Wouldn’t be issue if you’re happy to not. Breakfast was lovely and has all you need hot or cold. Great location."

"Beautiful property with an outstanding restaurant. Service was fine, but at times, it lacked the details you’d expect from a 5 star hotel., such as taking your luggage to the room or replenishing toiletries daily. The hotel is in the outbuildings of the chateau next to it and it can be difficult to locate initially. The main access is through the golf course area which isn’t very impressive. I would return to this hotel and recommend it to friends."

"Disappointed! It didn’t start well! No message with the code to get onto the harbour, then given an incorrect code, which took a member of staff to come and test it and then had to ask a bus driver for it. Then to find a couple who had the correct code, were checking in just in front of us - how did they get the right code?! Check in was ok, although we were left hanging around and not told our room was ready. Bar and restaurant service not the best! Left waiting at the bar - not even...
