"For a 340nzd/night hotel, totally unacceptable. While the reception staff was friendly and helpful, the condition of the room preparation and facility was shockingly bad. * No Shampoo in the room * The casing of the air conditioner is open, exposing internal compartments and components. It appears someone might be fixing or cleaning it, but the job is unfinished and it was left open. * The room's air conditioner was incredibly loud and made a constant, rapid ticking noise while running. "Very basic bed only arrangement."

"Friendly team, good amenities & centre of town. Communal lounge & kitchen is well equipped. All in all a good stay at a good price."

"What a little gem north of Franz Josef. Very spacious. Need a car to get to nearby town but they do have an arrangement with a couple of eateries that pick you up. Beautiful big bed and wood look heater. Great view. A good break."

"The accommodation was in a convenient location and it was quite clean. Beds were comfortable. We did have issues with the television and there was no soap provided in our room. The heat lamps and the fans in our bathroom did not work. However the shower pressure and temperature were great!"

"Thoughtfully designed deluxe tree hut which would rival some 5-star hotels. We had a lovely stay among the trees & birdsong in the morning. Short walk to all local amenities. We’ll be back!"

"Had everything we needed, clean and tidy, friendly and helpful staff"

"Nice place"

"The 2 bedroom family room was small and sparse but cozy. The heated beds were a plus and the lodge was easily walkable to the grocery store, a great cafe, and the Fox Glacier HeliTours office. The office had games and puzzles to loan for rainy days. Room was clean and beds were comfy"

"Staff friendly enough however when we went to ask some more information questions the office was closed, even though their office hours indicated they would be open! Room comfortable, warm & quiet. Handy to walk anywhere in town. A nice stay"

"Very beautiful views outside. It was nice to stay in small individual houses and not worry about noise from next door or above. The staff were very kind and helped as needed. We were able to use the kitchen to make multiple meals. Individual car park is right next to the unit which makes unloading and loading very convenient. Offsite parking for additional cars."

"The room was clean and well-kept. Lots of space, and nice bathroom. Check-in was very easy, and the staff was very helpful in answering our questions. Great option if staying in the Franz Josef area."

"The hotel was nice with many dining options within walking distance. The rooms provided good heating and was a comfortable stay."

"Great place to stay will come back again."

"Lovely stay in the Rainforest motel. Andy is a great host who made us feel very welcome. We sadly, were only there for one night, as we were passing through on our way to Queenstown, however if we are lucky enough to return to NZ we would definitely stay here for a few nights. The property is comfortable, clean and the unit we had was updated and had a great new bathroom / wet room. The whole motel complex has such a relaxed feel about it and we have no doubt recommending it as a great place to...

"Très propre. Très confortable. Le foyer est un plus très agréable"

"Great place to stay, staff were very helpful and friendly, great place to stay thank you"

"Clean, simple and warm with everything you need. We stayed in a double room which had an ensuite, small fridge and jug. The mattress was quite hard though."
