"The Argyl Broga house is well placed, within walking distance of St.Patrick's Street (where there are many shops, as well as a large McDonalds); the English Market (a quaint old food market); and Oliver Plunkeet street (lots of outdoor and indoor pubs and eating places - please try Quinlan's Seafood...excellent seafood chowder!). The property is well maintained, with an excellent coffee station in the reception. I stayed in one of the apartments with en suite bathrooms. The rooms are small (as one would expect in a hostel), but if you're primarily sleeping there at night and out during the day, that is fine. The shower cubicle, in particular, was much larger than one usually gets in such en suites, so that was nice.
Only one small note of caution and disappointment: On the Expedia site, there is no mention that the booking comes without access to the kitchen systems in the common area. In both other similar places I booked in Galway and Dublin, I was given full access to all kitchen amenities (fridge, oven, microwave, kettle) and utensils (as well as cutlery). Here I was told that was not included in the bill, and that I could therefore not use any of the kitchenette amenities. The front desk was also not inclined to be supportive - all I needed was some utensils (pan, plates, cups, cutlery), not a very big ask - and I did not get them. Made having physical access to the living room and kitchenette (a large, airy and otherwise nice space) pointless."
