"Beautiful grounds and castle. Room lovely but small. But we only stayed one night. Staff absolutely great. Not in your face but there if you needed anything and nothing too much trouble. A great stay all round. Definitely recommend to friends and family."

"A quiet & comfortable one nights stay & great value for money. Our room was nice & clean, the shower & toilet area appeared recently refurbished. Plenty of amenities in the room & extra tea/coffee & milk etc available from a table in the reception. Self service buffet breakfast was nice decent & plentiful considering it’s included in the room rate, it was very busy at 8.30am but staff managed it Ok. Free parking is another bonus along with the very close proximity to the Metro Centre (easy walk) & not too far from Newcastle. There is a regular bus to/from the Metro Centre & Newcastle just outside the hotel. There is a pub, KFC & Sambuca Restaurant along side the hotel, just a shame the immediate area is becoming a bit untidy with the derelict TGI Friday’s & overgrown hedges/walkways."

"We had two rooms . Both ok but think mattresses need upgrades. Also rubbish out side windows on flat roof doesn’t make a good look. But would stay again Food in bar was lovely as were the waiting staff."

"Staff were really friendly. Hotel was beautiful, as was our room except for the carpet. Stained pink in places and brown spots, told reception as was worried staying with two teenage boys they may have thought it was us! Lady was extremely apologetic and informed me that she would let the managers know. There were also sweet wrappers under the bed which were not ours. Spa looked beautiful, but more for couples/adults relaxing so decided against ruining the vibe with teenage boys! Would visit again with friends or husband though. Restaurant again was beautiful, it did take 45 minutes for our starter to arrive but I think they were short staffed and lady was doing her very best. Once did arrive, food was lovely, as was breakfast. Would stay again as location excellent, staff friendly and think just got a bit unlucky with the carpet as the rest of the room was beautiful especially the bathroom."
