The Rustic Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"Overall, this is a really great experience. The Vrbo was really clean and they had a diffuser going that smelled really good. All of the appliances were nice and the kitchen was new - I loved the sink, Rustic is a great descriptor. Maybe rustic luxe? ;)A few things worth noting - they didn’t take away from the experience for us at all, but are worth pointing out. The beds are big and I love that there are TVs in both of the bedrooms as well as the family room. You can also log into your streaming services and it’ll automatically log you out when you check out. The beds were on the firmer side though and a little uncomfortable for us because we’re used to softer beds. Also, the diffusers that were active when we first got there were covering up a smoke smell. Maybe at one point someone had smoked there? We just kept the diffusers going and it wasn’t a big deal for us, but if somebody has an allergy or something they might want to know that. There’s also well water there. We’re from different cities and not used to the taste of well water, The filter in the fridge is really good and if we got our water from the fridge, you couldn’t taste it at all. I could tell when I was taking a shower or washing my hands though.the washer/dryer combo was very cool. We were able to wash clothes / detergent was provided. Lastly - WiFi was perfect. No issues with that. And there were minimal clean up chores before checkout. Easy and easy out my favorite.Overall, we had a great time"

"Very clean room and super nice front desk associate. Not only was she friendly but when I realize I forgot my toothbrush at home I called down to see if y'all had one and when I asked, she very kindly offered to bring it up to me which was really nice. Made to order omelets during breakfast was super. The Omelette was tasty and all the other compliments of breakfast were terrific, as well, including the coffee!"

"Overall our stay was nice. The eggs at breakfast were pretty watery and not enjoyable and the potatoes unseasoned, but the other options of food were good! We have little ones so the complimentary breakfast was important! For what we paid I expected a bit better for breakfast."

"An excellent choice for a getaway with family. The outdoor amenities were exceptional, from the fire pit to the pool and spas, seating areas, and relaxing in nature. The location was perfect for easy access to beautiful Shades State Park. The kitchen was small for 10 people but adequately stocked. The gaucho grille was not appropriate for our needs: difficult to manage the heat and the grille surface does not work for burgers, etc. A conventional gas, propane, or charcoal grill would provide more flexibility. Owner communication was very good before and during occupancy, with prompt responses. Overall, it was a very positive experience for our family."

"Jacuzzi jets were strong. The tub was huge. The bed was the perfect firmness. It was useful to have a refrigerator and microwave plus the little table and chairs. I enjoyed my stay and left rested, relaxed, and with a cup of coffee in hand."
