Would highly recommend

Would highly recommend. The house is gorgeous and the location is too. The design and decor is stunning and the view of the river makes this really special. The customer service was excellent, Anthony and his family couldn't have been more helpful. The village is really pretty and the pubs and walks around were great. Would love to return

Perfect

What a find. The cottage although a little quirky was spotless and very comfortable. The real gem was the outside area overlooking the river and old mill. Anthony the host was very friendly and instantly made us feel at home. The log fire was another bonus which we were encouraged to use. Will definitely stop here again.

Stylish stay

A very unusual mix of industrial and antique fixtures on the ground floor gives way to luxurious en-suite bedrooms. Very swish! Small outdoor area with seating, and barbecue overlooks the River Meon. Being a fisherman, my favourite feature is a small jetty with a seat. I would hesitate to recommend to people with small children. Those with mobility issues might struggle as there are a number of level changes outside.

A most idyllic retreat for the weekend

The welcome we had from Anthony was warm, friendly and extremely informative. The property is well appointed with everything you need with the fantastic benefit of being by the riverside, giving relaxation immediately. With a log burner inside keeping everything cosy and the water vole swimming across the water, the birds and the wildfowl giving lots to see just in the garden. We enjoyed going to Chesapeake Mills and trying not to spend too much money on everything available there We loved that we could walk everywhere in close distance with amenities such as pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and an excellent butchers in the lovely market square We will definitely be visiting again at either here or the other properties at River Meon retreats and recommend it heartily

A romantic dream

I genuinely don’t know where to begin in attempting to do justice to our week here: truly one of the best staycations I’ve had. Starting with the lodge, the pictures great as they are, don’t do it justice. It’s so well decorated and cleverly designed. It has everything you could possibly need. The location is breathtaking, we are missing the tranquil and calming sound of the steam each morning. Two fussy teenagers were kept completely silenced by enjoying being here, the different design of their bedroom and en suite. Great to have the wildlife, with fish jumping each night to feed. Ducks and moorhens pottering about. Fabulous to sit out and enjoy the peace. The owner was always on hand to help us with anything, he met us when we arrived, super guy. The village is lovely, and so well placed for everything you might want to do. I’d return in a heartbeat

A perfect cottage
