Conveniently located near to Exmouth, River Exe and Lympstone, whether you’re looking for a relaxing holiday on the two miles of golden sandy beach or taking part in watersports: kite surfing, kayaking and windsurfing to name a few. There is so much to do in this peaceful pocket of the world. Pick up bikes from Exmouth and head off along the cycle path - you can go as far as Exeter if you wish! The idyllic Exe estuary is surrounded by stunning scenery of the majestic World Heritage Jurassic Coast so, if you don’t fancy being active, just soak up the beauty and let yourself relax.
In Exmouth itself, there are a diverse selection of shops, places to eat and things to do. After busy days on the beach, treat yourself to dinner at RockFish where you can taste some of the freshest seafood around and with a view to boot. In the summer months, head to the harbour and pick up the local water taxi. You can get a lift over to the River Exe Cafe - one of Devon’s best kept secrets. Dine out on the floating pontoon and watch the sunset over the water - it’s a truly wonderful experience.
There is so much to explore in the surrounding areas too. The nearby Lympstone village boasts the impeccable Lympstone Manor, a luxury Manor House Hotel also set up by Michael Caines. Enjoy a spa day or afternoon tea with sweeping views down the lawn and over the peaceful estuary. Topsham is another lovely village, brimming with independent cafes and quirky antique shops. The RSPB Bowling Green Marsh is a haven for wildlife lovers - as a major point of interest for birders across South West Britain, with many rare species present at any one time.
Darts Farm is a wonderful farm and lifestyle shop just 10 minutes drive away - you could spend a whole day here in itself! It’s the place to pick up Devon’s best produce, from wine and cheese to meats, flowers and artisan gifts. In summer, they host outdoor events and there are ample opportunities to go sunflower or strawberry picking. Make sure you stop by The Fish Shed too, which is on-site. This award-winning fish and chip shop is a real one-of-a-kind treat.
