"The checkin was easy. We were confused about the parking situation. We had to go inside and find out where to park. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay better. The Christmas markets were across the street from the hotel which made it nice for visiting day or night. Dining choices were abundant within easy walking of the hotel. "

"A short walk from Essen train station, the hotel is reasonable for the price. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, with good heating and air-conditioning unit, a kettle with tea and coffee, a complimentary bottle of water. My room overlooked the car park at the back of the hotel so it was nice and peaceful, facing away from the busy road. The room wasn't spotless, but it was clean enough. "Beautiful hotel, spacious & comfortable room, perfect location and spotless clean. The man who did our check in was very nice & helpful, but in general, the staff & atmosphere were pretty cold & distant. The restaurant & bar were closed 2 nights out of our 3 and the lobby lights were dimmed ..no visible staff at the reception, so the hotel felt empty & deserted. "

"A very nice breakfast buffet. The shower handle is too easily touched and therefore moved while showering, causing you to find yourself in cold or hot water suddenly. It would be nice of there were some rooms with a double bed (and blankets) instead of just double single beds. I found the blankets a bit small."
