Neptune Oceanview Nest

Kick back at our classic Leucadia beach cottage! You will feel like a local, within walking distance to popular surf spots (Beacons and Grandview) and the iconic coffee shops and restaurants on PCH 101. We're located in the heart of Leucadia, but driving distance to all the popular tourist destinations that San Diego has to offer. Our beach cottage offers ocean and sunset views, a rooftop deck, patio dining, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen, and nooks for reading, working, or relaxing.
The space
It makes us so happy to share this funky space. Originally a one bedroom beach bungalow, the home has had many additions over the years. With 3 bedrooms and a 4th bonus sleeping porch/sunroom, we can comfortably sleep 8. Each level has one full bath, and the downstairs back bedroom has an additional 1/2 bath.

Most guests head straight up to the rooftop deck to enjoy a 360 degree view. A perfect spot to catch the sunset, check the waves, soak up some rays, or star gaze! The house offers many nooks with seating to read, work, or relax with a beverage while enjoying the view and sea breezes.

San Diego's temperate weather allows us to take advantage of the fresh ocean air to cool us down on hot summer days, and we bundle up in sweatshirts and slippers to stay warm in cooler months. We do provide fans, air conditioner. space heaters, throws and heated blankets.

The kitchen is fully stocked and the dining table expands to seat eight. The back patio has a dining table, gas bbq, table for dining and outdoor shower for rinsing off the salt and sand after a day at the beach!
Park in the single car garage and one additional driveway space, or in front of the house where street parking is free.

We offer 4 beach/camp chairs and 4 bikes for you to enjoy.
Guest access
You will have a private entrance and access to the entire home except two storage rooms in the basement next to the laundry area. You have a back patio and outdoor shower to enjoy. Our casita is off the back patio behind a privacy screen, and we ask that you do not use the deck on our casita.
Other things to note
This home is an original Neptune beach cottage. We believe it was built around 1941. With that comes charm but also the squeaks and quirks of an older home. A few things we want you to know before you come:
-Please note there is no air conditioning or heat.
-A few of the outlets do not work. We’ve covered those outlets for you.
-When 2 or 3 heating devices are plugged in in the bedrooms, you may blow a fuse. The fuse box is in the garage.
-Lastly, if it rains hard there are a few leaks. They are in the sunroom and covered front porch and not near any beds or furniture. We may ask permission to come in and place some buckets and towels if you happen to hit a rainy day.
We love this space and the history and love it is filled with, but we know an older home is not for everyone. We want to be transparent about what to expect.
