"Older hotel and definitely showing wear and tear. Bathroom light is connected to fan; very loud and obnoxious. No insulation between rooms next door or above. But staff very friendly and welcoming!"

"This hotel was recommended by a friend whose daughter attends UC Davis, and we are so glad we stayed here. The room was comfortable, the AC was adjustable and not too loud, and the windows actually open, which I love for fresh air. The hotel also had umbrellas we could borrow, which was perfect for the partially rainy days while we toured the campus, which was just three short blocks away. There is a wide variety of restaurants all around. The elevator to the parking was helpful, and the elevator well is actually beautifully tiled on the wall and very clean (usually these kinds of areas are forgotten, dirty, & unattractive). The free Starbucks coffee was excellent. We also loved the central seating areas in the common spaces, so we could hang out & talk. We would definitely stay there again! Our only complaint was that there are not enough towel hooks (this is very common at every hotel), and the sofa bed was tragically uncomfortable. Two of us slept sideways on it, b/c the bar in the middle was protruding so badly, and it was too short to sleep on the other way. It seems like the end of the sofa bed has been sat on so much, it was smashed flat, and made the mattress sloped on that side. The front desks reps were all very friendly, and those who were UC Davis students generously offered their personal experiences with the school."

"The room was great and beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff was very kind. The location is great, super close to the arboretum as a walkway to UC Davis. The only issue: they put us in the very back section of the hotel, which was the only part of the hotel with no outdoor lights. They have put new recessed lighting in the section right next to it, but they haven't even changed a bulb in the one large fixture that exists. I don't mind that is just a motor lodge, but the old "Davis Motel" sign in the corner of the parking lot gives of a creepy vibe and then they put me as a solo woman with my kid in this dark section. Weird. "
