"I have been to many different Barcelo Resorts and this was my least favorite. The restaurants were sub-par at best. Buffets were much better and even had a dedicated Vegan section. I added a star solely due to this.
Staff was underwhelming and not motivated at all. Rooms were fine and we loved the family room aspect.
The entire resort smelled. And it wasn’t from the seaweed. Inside all the buildings it smelled like backed up toilets; eating outside was the only option due to smell. Our own room the sink would gurgle when showering. The smell was not pleasant.
We had a fine time but will try another location before coming back here. Note-add an hour to your ride back to airport! We left 2.5 hours before flight and ran to our gate! Many people in the same situation!"
