Scattered along the countryroads on the "Morish Strip" one can discover several castles and towers, perfectly planned for modern explorers in need of a break. According to local legend, the shadow of a warrior can be seen along this parapet every night at dusk, awaiting the return of a lost love.

Unfortunately we did not have time to await that event. - Quite tricky to walk along that parapet, by the way.

"For the price, you could not go wrong. It was cleanthe host was very amicable. There are also couple of restaurants just outside the property, which was very convenient. We only spend one night on our way from Caminito del Rey, so after a long hard day, this place was more than perfect. Will definitely recommend it for a short stay. "

"This is the best place to stay after busy and loud crowds of the city. Alfonso is the most gracious of hosts and has built a beautiful home with six guest rooms that each have their own bathrooms, all situated around an inner courtyard. "Pleasant rustic hotel in good location at side of lake, ample free parking. Room quite large with plenty of storage space. We booked room with lake view, can be noisy as this also looks over bar and restaurant. Breakfast adequate continental, dinner in restaurant very good. Downside is basic maintenance, worn lock on bedroom door, creaking doors, wardrobe door would not stay closed, toilet system flush required replacing, reported no WiFi in bedroom for 3 days finally working on day we departed."

"My initial impression was dubious but on entering the building I was amazed at the beautiful and unique layout of the property. Although my bedroom (#4) was rather small, I was impressed by the high quality of the decorations. The shower facility was of a high standard. The rooftop terrace has been refurbished into a “chill out” area giving wonderful 360 degree views of the surroundings including a view of the distant castle. "Breathtaking views from this Parador overhanging the dramatic Arcos cliff. Add to that a MOST welcoming and pleasantly UPBEAT staff, and one knows that THIS, the stay at the Parador de Arcos will never be forgotten. "Our third visit, and our stay was as special as both previous ones. Peacefulness, remoteness, spotlessly clean room, very efficient A//C, light comfy lounge area. The swimming pool was much appreciated, as was the poolside bar (weekends) and the delicious food from the Oromana restaurant - open Monday - Saturday evenings and weekend lunchtimes. But... what makes this hotel exceptional is it's staff. Waiting staff, housekeeping, behind the scenes staff we never met, and reception staff were polite and professional. Reception staff in particular were helpful, organising taxis, restaurant bookings and drinks durung the day when the bar wasn't manned. All the reception staff worked very hard, and went above and beyond to fulfil our requests. But one gentleman stood out. Thankyou Fran for taking time to make us feel extra special - always a smile, handshake, advice on festivals we may enjoy another year and he produced an iron and extra coat hangers in a flash. He made us feel we were friends as well as guests. Thank you Fran, for your genuine wishes that we had a good stay at The Oromana."
