"First, the staff - all of them - at The Channings, were superior. Friendly, helpful, accommodating, and willing to go out of their way to help. You won't find better, imo.
Next, The Channings is a lovely building, inside and out. Built in 1865 as a lavish home, it retains much of its original architectural beauty - plaster moldings, lovely staircase, beautiful floors, stained glass windows, and gorgeous woodwork. The beer garden is spacious and there's plenty of seating, though it's all picnic...
"The staff were lovely, and the property is in a great location. The beds were fresh and clean, but sadly the accommodation is in need of a reverb. This place could be a real little gem if Greene King put some money into it !!!
Parking was a bonus too. We were staying to attend a wedding near by, so they would benefit from an upgrade and be a great choice to choose from. So overall it was a place to rest your head but not somewhere I would probably recommend if you wanted a bit of style and...
