"Great location in centre of town with parking around the back. Be prepared for signs on approach suggesting you cannot drive down high street. It is only way in and as well as paying £12 for 24hr there is no direct access to the hotel so you have to carry bags and walk up narrow lane to get to the front. Not great with elderly or disabled guests although there is drop off bay out front. Very historic building with lots of original features including lots of steps with no sign of a lift. Booked...

"Das Hotel ist "knuffig", alt und hat Flair. Personal bzw. Besitzer sind nett und sehr hilfsbereit. (Vielen Dank!) Wir würden durchaus wiederkommen. Voraussetzung: Die Matratzen wären bis dahin durch gute, neue Matratzen ausgetauscht worden. Das haben wir als Schwachpunkt empfunden, so ausgeleiert/durchgelegen sie waren."

"Extremely uncomfortable sleep - tiny double bed for 2 people and there was an old creaky, loud fan and the room was unbearably hot even with the fan on all night and windows open. Give people a bigger bed and buy new modern quiet fans!"

"Overall this hotel suited our needs as we were visiting Colchester Zoo. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The air conditioner in our room did not cool properly."

"It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good. The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well."
