The property is in a beautiful and unique location, but overall our stay did not meet expectations for the price paid. I would not stay here again.Our experience was impacted by a couple of major issues. The main house oven was not functional upon arrival, and the cottage oven was not reliable, requiring several hours to prepare meals. In practice, we did not have a functional oven during our stay. This was a major issue for our group as we had planned meals based on having two fully operational kitchens.Additionally, the water on the island is not potable, which was not disclosed in advance. We discovered this upon arrival due to the noticeable smell and taste and had to arrange drinking water at our own expense. Several members of our group also experienced skin irritation, which we believe may have been related to the water conditions.While staff were helpful in assisting with logistics and attempted to fix the oven issues, neither problem was disclosed prior to arrival or resolved during our stay despite being raised immediately. The host did accommodate early check-in and two additional guests, as our boat could not be accommodated at the dock. We appreciated those accommodations, but this did not offset the overall impact to our stay.Given the price, we expected a much higher level of functionality and transparency. I strongly recommend confirming all major amenities and the water situation in detail prior to booking, as this stay did not deliver for us.
