Just 500 metres away, the Exmoor National Park Centre is fab for finding out about local walks, whether you prefer gentle riverside strolls or more challenging hikes. With Exmoor National Park all around you, you can take your dog for breath-taking walks across sweeping moorland – keep an eye out for the famous Exmoor ponies! Venture 5 miles to Tarr Steps, an impressive seven-span clapper bridge built entirely from stone, with picturesque riverside walks nearby. For history lovers, Dunster (14.5 miles) offers a medieval charm, a National Trust castle and easy access to the coast. Adventure-seekers will surely head to Wimbleball Lake (6 miles) for sailing and cycling trails.


Step inside and marvel at the original wooden beams and flagstone flooring – it’s like going back in time. As expected with a property this age, the ceilings are low so do take care if you’re tall. A warm and inviting living space is centred around a huge inglenook fireplace with a wood burner – ideal perfect for curling up in front of the Smart TV after a fun-filled day out. A window seat sets the scene for quiet reading, and other characterful touches like antique-shop-style furniture contribute to the homely setting. The cheerful kitchen leads you to the outdoor space. Head up the cottage style stairs to the charming double bedroom, where a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and stone walling add to the rustic appeal.


The shower room, with a walk-in shower and WC, overlooks a hidden oasis of gardens. Outside you’ll have a private enclosed patio, where you can soak up the fresh air and unwind with your favourite drink.


The cottage is access via a narrow lane where the private off road parking for 1 car can also be found.
