"Very disappointing to arrive on site a 1845 and discover that there was no restaurant facilities and no bar available for a drink. The booking confirmation stated that both were open 11 till late, but it's actually 6pm when the restaurant closes. There is an expensive shop open to buy student type food, but we didnt fancy pot noodle when we were hoping to be dining in the restaurant. Very misleading information. "

"Overall our two nights were good room and property were very clean and there's a kitchen for food. A couple of points would be to have a blind on the bathroom door window mainly because the morning light comes in and wound add more privacy. Also we found the mattresses uncomfortable and springy so didn't get a great sleep but its a lovely property and would stay again if beds were comfier "

Our room and especially the bathroom was clean, well appointed and quiet with a garden view. Our only qualm was that the breakfast incurred and additional per person charge. The breakfast menu gave a very considerable choice (2 sides A4) of vegetarian breakfasts and excelled in variety, quantity and quality (am not personally a veggie!). Kingscroft has ample car parking and is around a 10/15 min walk to Buxton town centre. If you go do take your breakfast appetite with you. "
