"The fire alarm went off at 8am for several minutes and interrupted my stay. I was in bed at the time and had to get dressed quickly and throw all my belongings in my bag and leave. Not Great for the amount paid when In need of rest. "

"On arrival checking in was easy reception staff very helpful.We had a first floor room which was clean,shower over bath was not brilliant.The room had a fusty smell as though it had been smoked in or damp???? Dinner was very good really delicious and piping hot.Breakfast would have been brilliant if it had been piping hot but it was just warm! "

"I stayed there for 8 nights, possibly the worst hotel stay ever. The elevator that worked was extreemly slow and bumpy. The other elevator appears( based on reviews) to have been nonfunctioning for over a year. In my first room there was no hot water. In the second room I walked into a very hot room with the heat on full blast with a detatched radiator knob. On the second night in that room I was awkoken at 3am by a mouse or rat snacking on sugar packets. I wont stay there again. The staff were helpful and as nice as thay can be working in such an aweful place with no doubt constant complaints. The hallways smelled either of urine or mariajuana, the bar and dining area were under some sort of renovation so thus there were no facilities. Being central on New Steet was nice in some ways but there were people sleeping in an alcove opposite the entrance. On the friday at 11pm there were intermittent fire alarms causing me to get out of bed and leave the building.. there was nothing that they could figure out the alarms. The price was reasonable but check other reviews on other sites if you are thinking of staying there."

"arrived at hotel at 12.30, my room wasn’t available, so left my case with the hotel as i needed to attend a work event. Returned by to the hotel at 9pm to be advised they had no rooms for me, taking i paid upfront £183 10 days before. They had advised they had over booked ans it was first come first served. The shift manager was just rude and should not work on front of staff! i was advised they were looking for another hotel… which they did 10-15mins taxi ride away and i was asked to move my car out of the hotel car park into a public car park … which wasn’t achievable as i had been drinking. It took over 1 hour to get me another hotel. i was advised that in the morning a taxi would be arranged to bring me back to this hotel. The new hotel had no record of this and had to try and arrange … this took a further 45 mins to get the taxi. I was not offered any compensation, eventho they knew this was a concern they hadn’t even worked out how to compensate to ease the disruption. i was told to email my complaint … what a joke this hotel is !"
