"I felt comfortable, despite initial problem with my reservation through Expedia (which took 3 calls to resolve), and some construction noise. I stayed 4 nights in the 6bed dorm room. I miss the hostel dog Amazon, the most. It's a very basic hostel but staff/volunteers/owner/guests were very nice. "The stay was great, Frank was helpful and welcoming, parking was secure, the location and views were wonderful. It is easily the best house in the area with friendly staff that made you feel like you were part of the family. I felt like I was visiting a relative’s home, and reminded me of Rio. It felt like an uncle let me stay at his beach house for the weekend. I loved it, and it gave a real “slice of life” perspective to my Dominican Republic vacation."

"The property is in a very unsafe area. It’s actually in the hood. The cabin a very small room, not one bedroom as advertised. There is a public pool and BBQ grill for the whole property. Don’t be fooled by the pictures showing a private pool right behind the cabin. I only rated this property more than a 1 only because of the owner William who is a very kind man and apologized for the misrepresentation of the property… Other than that, that property is a 1 or lower and I barely post a review, but...

"The place was nice, and people were helpful, but they did not have our reservation from VRBO. THe lady there was sweet, spoke no English and had no idea.They had other reservations form other platforms but not ours. We were lucky that they had one room left that they put us in and it all worked out and its a good location to explore Zona Colonial. Just make sure to verify your reservation!"
