"property just down rd from the hard. Hard to find without prior knowledge. Entry was difficult becuase the entry system at first took a lot of doing. It is on a safe system that needs imput from the owners and a no to get the small safe to drop and reveal the key to apt. Not able to get TV or internet until landlady came on sun morning. Phone conversation was not good at all. Frequently breaking down when asking questions. No instructions at all in apt to get started. No hot water...

"Host changed the address of the property an hour before check in (5 hours into our travel to the location). The amended property had black mould poorly covered by grouting, no shower screen so water went everywhere, and general "DIY landlord" decorating, with damage to many of the walls being slap dash filled and painted. There was also a general sewage smell across the property but that may have just been the area / location. "

"The host never responded to any communications. I tried calling, SMS, email and hotel.com chat. The agent also tried to contact them unsuccessfully. I had to wait until 4pm on the day of arrival before the agent agreed to re-book. After that I then had to wait for hotels.com to respond. Gave up and asked for a refund. These people will leave you oit of pocket, on the street, in the dark. Dangerous and unethical practice especially for lone female travellers."

"We had another apartment booked, but 4 days before our holiday it became unavailable due to maintenance issues so we had alternative accommodation offered. On arrival there was beer bottles and rubbish all over the car park entrance. For 3 people in 2 bedrooms we had 1 coat hanger, we had iron but not ironing board, not hot water between 6pm and 8pm sometimes up to 9pm (probably used out by others in the building). "Informal, buzzy hotel with lovely, friendly and efficient staff. Had an issue with our room and quickly moved. We booked basic twin but would go for the club in future as more roomy and modernised. Dog friendly hotel, dogs I think are booked into the ground floor rooms. Menus in bar and restaurant which are right next door to each other are good for allergies. I’m GF but had no problem. Pool is small and busy but all one depth and not too deep. Well maintained and you can’t get in without filling in a form, being a guest or a member. Didn’t have time for a treatment. Hotel parking is limited, saw some charging points. We parked in front of hotel reception in the public car park which was fine about £7 a day I think? There is a short walk to the Cathedral, shops and even nearer for the theatre. Slopey rather than hilly. Good location. We felt safe there. Good shopping! Will book again. "

"Beautiful harbour-side hotel with lovely views. Excellent spa. My only niggle is that the architect over-complicated the lighting system. Our room had 9 light switches (excluding the one for the bathroom) and it was impossible for us to turn off the dimmed light in the entrance hall area - no matter what switch combo we tried. My son and his gf had the same issue in their room. "

"Great experience staying here. The staff were so nice and helpful. The room was very comfortable. There’s a small store nearby for some necessities, and more extensive shopping is just a 15-minute walk mostly through a park. We ate at least one meal there each day, and the food was very good. All in all, a very nice place. We would definitely stay there again."
