"Very expensive"

"I have mixed feelings about this place. I booked our room according to the photos shown on Expedia but when we arrived we have got a completely different kind of room. Next morning i have asked if any chance to give a room i have seen on the booking platform and they have granted us a better room but the bed was so old and it was so loud with every turn or little movement. "Overall good but with a few issues. The shower rail/curtain was defective allowing exposed wood frame to rot. Torn curtain and scuffed walls. The duvet was torn. The lamp bulbs were old gas filled and not Leds. Breakfast was better on Monday than the weekend. Positive points , the food at the bar was great and the staff were friendly. Parking was great. Probably wouldn't stay again."

"Stayed in a golf view room which was ample size and with nice views of golf course, king bed was very comfortable. The only issues we had with room was there was a very noisy extractor fan or heating fan that was extremely noisy in the corridor (floor 3) that was quite annoying during the night. The tv was small and dated and remote didnt work . Another issue was there was a lot of dust on the tables and vanity units which obviously hadnt been cleaned in a while which was a bit off putting and...

"Location was good and also the matras was ok. The Bath and furniture were dated, Bath rust and mold. View from the window on garbage from hotel. We had lots of flies in the room. The TV was not working properly (bad receipt most channels). No soap and shampoo at shower (both empty). No cleanup room and clean towels for 2nd night. We paid for breakfast but was poor. On tables outside in the morning they left all the bottles and glasses. They are not looking after the place. Much much too...

"The room was big with a well stocked tea tray. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with a buffet style hot selection at the weekend and made to order hot choices weekday. The staff were welcoming and friendly."

"Excellent stay at this lovely hotel. The bedroom was very clean. Staff are very pleasant and made our stay very enjoyable. The meal we had was top notch and couldn't fault any of it. Breakfast the following morning was also very enjoyable, served piping hot and delicious. There is ample free parking on site too which is a great bonus with the hotel being on the high street. We would highly recommend the Red Lion and wouldn't hesitate to return!"

"We had the perfect stay. The Owls Nest was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. From the comfy bed, hot tub and the Webber bbq all made it so relaxing. Dog friendly which was a bonus. Jenny & Margaret were great hosts. We appreciated the special touches. We had such a lovely time that booked to go again before we left. Highly recommended."
