"C'est vraiment très moyen, niveau confort pas de thermostat de température dans la chambre, le chauffage se regle sur le vieux radiateur electrique directement, du coup, reveillé dans la nuit tellement il faisait chaud. Aeration de nuit ca reveille, réglage en tâtonnant ( ca prend beaucoup de temps et c'est pas ecolo du tout). "It was our first time at the Grand Hotel. We stayed at the hotel on our way to catch the ferry from Caen to the UK. The location is very peaceful next to the Solesmes Abbey. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was of a high quality. Our superior room had a balcony and air con and was spacious. Our little border terrier, Lola, was made very welcome and we found a lovely walk next to the river behind the Abbey. We will definitely come back. "

"This was the most magical stay. The castle is beautiful and looks amazing for pictures. The grounds are also beautiful as well. The room is kept very well and very clean. There’s 2 living rooms to just hangout and that’s where they serve the before dinner champagne and after dinner coffee or tea. Dinner at the castle is a must, it’s all your Downton Abbey dreams come true experience! The food could be better but the experience was just wonderful. The breakfast is great! There’s so much to choose...

"I arrived at night. Off a main road you suddenly enter into a different world. Going down gently through the park I saw a couple of sheep. I was welcomed by Mme La Comtesse and shown to my beautiful room. Lovely period decor with all modern amenities. Even a decanter with port ! Very quiet. And in the morning what a view ! Grand dining room for breakfast. Everything is served to perfection. All food is homemade, even the jams. It was lovely to have conversation with people from all over with...
