"Good place, safe. They have a Great roof top pool with a view to the ocean bay. A couple blocks away. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Would stay here again"

The AC and hot water worked very well, and once I got the special wifi access reserved for staff, I had no problems with wifi. I had a solid view of the ocean, but I did discover that I could have rented a bungalow down on the beach for a little less than I paid at Sailors. This discovery was disappointing, but Sailors was still a solid accommodation. "

"This is an amazing resort with amazing ambiance and staff, direct access to the beach and a beautiful pool, we had 5 days of heaven in a villa and could not ask for anything better, everyone soo helpful and welcoming, bed super comfortable, food delicious, very central to tuk tuk around to the beaches to explore, great restaurants around and loved every moment there"

"There are 3 hotels in the Somerset group. This is away from the beach. Its up a very steep narrow concrete road. Its dark in the night and only 1 vehicle can go up or down this dark narrow road. The hotel staff are really nice. The rooms are a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was a joke as compared to hotels we have stayed in colombo. There was no buffet. Just a plate of fruit and eggs if you asked. Better stay is closer to the beach and somerset has a hotel right on tne beach"

"Just an absolutely awful hotel. Do not be fooled by the photos, they are from around a decade ago. Everything is old, broken, full of ants and dead flies, the showers have no doors, the pool looks like a horror film. Some other guests had a party until 5am and when we tried to find a member of staff to complain to there was no-one all night. And then they claimed the next morning there was no party. We tried to ask for a partial refund but the owner refused and made us pay 100%. The receptionist took off tax but the service overall was embarrassingly bad. (We can’t prove it but are pretty certain the positive reviews by ‘local guides’ are all friends of the hotel, artificially boosting its ratings). Absolutely do not stay in this awful awful hotel"
